Outcome: Magazine Cover & Feature Spread Designs
Cover & Spreads
The cover was designed to be energetic, using a layered, collage style to feature multiple artists and headlines simultaneously. The internal spreads were designed to be clean and engaging, using strong photography, pull quotes, and clear columns of text to guide the reader through the content.
The Brief & The Challenge
As part of the BA Typography module, the task was to design a cover and feature article spreads for a publication. The key challenge was to balance the high-density information required for a news stand magazine cover with a clear, readable, and structured interior layout, establishing a strong and consistent typographic system throughout.

Process & Design System
A flexible typographic system was created to handle different types of content, from bold, impactful headlines for the cover and artist features to structured, readable text for longer articles and educational sections like the 'Masterclass'. The layouts are built on a strong, multi-column grid. This provided the necessary structure to organise text and images logically while allowing for the creative freedom needed to design dynamic, visually led feature pages.
